It goes without saying this is one of porn's true classics and the performances are convincing regardless of how little or how much they do. And while Bambi Woods did a lot more in Debbie Does Dallas 2 her innocent girl demeanor made the whole thing really enjoyable.

The movie was originally released in 38 mm but I'm going to review this one in terms of the DVD content. It features:
Animated interactive menus basically a short movie loop showing what the sex scenes will show.

2 dolby sound Sort of a moot point considering the original sound is crappy to start with.

Still pictures this one is really problematic because it doesn't let you flip through them. Each image is displayed for 10 seconds or so and then in changes to the next one automatically. On top of that the "stills" are not real production stills but screen captures from the movie itself

No regional coding Which means you can play this DVD in any player. Still, as far as I know all Porn DVDs are in this format.

Of these features the one feature that's really great are the menus to jump into every scene. No more having to fast forward the entire movie to see Bambi Wood's only scene with Richard Bolla. And if you have any other favorite scenes you don't have to fast forward or rewind either. What else can the raincoat audience ask for?

There's one more thing: upon closer inspection you can tell the encoding of the DVD was done through an analog tape transfer. Which is fine,but sort of makes me wonder if there's an original negative for this movie somewhere. I'm asking this because being the true classic it is it would be interesting to see a "special edition" featuring a clean film transfer.

Some may say this is too much for a porn movie, but I think Debbie Does Dallas, as a classic, deserves the effort. At least in terms of design. Because it looks like the people who designed the menus had a crash course in photoshop and not much else.

Great as ever. Now with the enhanced image you can really appreciate the colors and textures of the scenes. Believe it or not you may end up finding new things in each scene you didn't find before.

The sound is the only element that, although you can tell there's a small improvement, still lacks crisp. But that's because of the original

At any rate this is a great opportunity to watch each scene without having to go through fast forwarding. You'll probably find out you'll like it more now that the access to each scene is immediate.

Again in terms of the DVD: the ease of access to each scene. It was great just having to click a button to jump to the next scene. It took away the bothersome, distracting effect of the fast forwarding.

I think the design for the menus could've been better. I know it's just a porn movie, but I think its status as a classic makes it deserving of a better design.

I also didn't like the lack of control over the stills. As an interactive disc this should be 100% controlled by the user.

The film will always deserved a 10. The DVD deserves a 9. 5 because of the problems I already discussed. If you are a fan of vintage porn this one is a good purchase.

Starring: Bambi Woods leads a pack of fresh-faced young girls playing the part of cheerleaders who fulfil the fantasies of older men. The cutest women in the movie are Misty Winter (aka Christie Ford), Georgette Saunders, Arcadia Lake, Debbie Lewis, and Bambi herself - all of them are pure eye candy. Sherri Tart (aka Rikki O'Neal), Jenny Cole and Merrill Townsend are not as good-looking, but give adequate performances - it adds to the realism that not all of the girls are stunners. The men look okay despite the seventies-style hair and moustaches, and some of them have good-sized dicks. I though the quality of acting wasn't all that bad for a porn film.

The movie is well-directed but the quality of camera work is, as one might expect from such an early classic, inferior to what one gets nowadays. The one anal penetration scene, for example is not as clearly depicted as in modern films.

The well-known story revolves around Bambi Woods and her fellow cheerleaders getting jobs to raise funds - and ending up raising a lot more than just funds, as they horny male employers lust after the nubile young girls. But the first sex scene actually happens before they embark on their scheme, when Misty Winter and Debbie Lewis are showering after cheerleader pactice and are joined by some of the school football players. Misty performs a nice BJ on a guy with a good-sized dick, then mounts him for some well-filmed fucking. He finishes up boning her doggie-style and comes on her back. Another guy does the same with Debbie Lewis, who then proceeds to suck him back to hardness. They follow her example, and we are treated to a succession of scenes of each of the girls having sex with their employers. Misty Winter has a job in a candle shop owned by Mr. & Mrs. Hardwick (Eric Edwards and Robyn Bird). She is caught putting a candle to a use for which it was not intended, and ends up getting fucked by Eric as Robyn fingers her and sucks her perfect nipples. The scene ends with Eric pulling out of Misty's pussy and shooting onto Robyn's tongue. Next is the car wash scene with Jenny Cole and Rikki O'Neal, that was famously copied by Denise Richards in 'Wild Things'. Lovely Georgette Saunders alone with two naked guys in the men's locker room is such a great setting for a hot threeway - but the guy who is suppposed to be fucking her from behind as she sucks Peter Lerman's big cock does only simulated sex. That was a big disappointment, because it could well have been the hottest scene in the film otherwise.

This film is deservedly one of the classics and, although it suffers from the old-fashioned production values, I would give it a rating of a 9.

Starring: It's easy to tear down any old pornie that's achieved earned the label classic. Some have now turn on Bambi Woods and "Debbie Does Dallas. " While I think most of its critics are responding to its reputation as one of the most well-known and satirized porn titles in history, it does suffers from its low-budget and amateurish acting. Bambi, chosen for her hot body, has an gawky deer-in-the-headlights stare, and most of her fellow cheerleaders are average lookers with OK bodies. But that's the appeal. These gals look no different than the average girl-next-door. We don't need inflated tits. The plot is now legendary: Debbie wants to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, so her friends take jobs to raise enough cash so they can go with her. They quickly discover it's easier to earn money sucking and fucking their bosses.

The picture is flat, just like every other '70s pornie, but the sex is surprisingly edgy, from the "candle" scene to the library spanking.

But the eroticism grows from these "innocent" girls who are at first unaware of the power over men and women. This is clear in the early scenes between Bambi and R. Bolla, who pays her just for a "little taste" of her nipples. Their reactions are classic.

Two scenes stand out: Eric Edwards and Robyn Byrd as the Hardwicks, who double team one of Debbie's friends they catch masturbating in their candle shop; and the finale when Bolla finally gets a touchdown with Debbie. After all these years, the sex is realistic, fun and arousing.

The direction is awkward, and the performances are amateurish.

Still, it's a held up for a reason. It looks and feels genuine, like the wet dreams you had as a horny adolesent. A 9.
