Starring: This is the grandmother of all porn movies, one, that with "Deep Throat" started the porn chic trend in the 1970s. This classic stars Georgina Spelvin as Justine Jones, a frustrated spinster who commits suicide. For punishment for that mortal sin, she is instructed to become well-versed in sexual pleasures before her final sentence. Teaching her sex are Harry Reems, and other performers from porn's early days including Marc "10 1/2" Stevens. They all are excellent.

Historians say the film was produced in about 3 days for under $1,000, but that doesn't show. The sets are gloriously sleazy, but they are meant to be that way. The picture quality for such an old tape, is execellent. The story, the acting and the sex are superb.

Miss Jones' introduction to the blowjob is one of the most erotic scenes I've ever witnessed. Spelvin literally makes love to Reems C**K in a way I've never seen in all my years of watching porn. Enough can't be said about the care in which this film was made. Filmed before the Supreme Court decision (I forget if it was in '73 or '74) to include adult films into the definition of "pornography", the appoach to this film was definately more artistic than anything else I've seen produced in the adult cinema. The production values easily surpass any film of its kind anr many films of other kinds.

First-rate. Each sex scene carefully results from an intriguing schematic of plot and character development. The scene with Spelvin and the snake was one of the most erotic, yet disturbing visual treats I've ever witnessed. The new wave of hard-core hardbody starlets could learn a few things from Spelvin. Spelvin achieves a much more resonant sexuality with her care to develop character and her superior acting skills. Her scenes are filled with an honesty that is incredibly more erotic to watch than a bunch of 90's production-style fake "hoos" and "haas" and "your C**K fills so good in my cunt, you stud. Oh shoot cum all over my face". Though I would rather look at photos or stills of someone like Teri Wiegel, I would much, much rather watch Georgina Spelvin have sex.

The production values and acting which I've just spoken of and the script. In addition to this being a very erotic film, the script is very intelligent. The last scene certainly pays homage to a major philosophical movement (existentialism) in its overt allusion to Albert Camus' "No Exit".

Very little. I guess the lesbian scene between Spelvin and the other actress wasn't very interesting. Perhaps because it suffered from what made the other scenes so wonderful: careful sexual motivation.

I hold an incredibly high regard for this film (duh :)). This film succeeds in understanding what eroticism is all about. An unmistakeable "10", I wish todays' adult films would more carefully research what made Devil in Miss Jones a classic.
